Th...We had the same problem in Dubrovnik last year. There were 5 cruise ships in at the same time and it was so awful. We took the first ferry we could to a nearby island to escape! It is true as you say that Venice is often crowded with tourists but I guess this is what boosts the economy. When we visit we tend to stroll the more deserted streets and courtstend get away from the crowds.
