I like to cook enough to keep in my fridge, to quickly heat up when I come in. However (don't tell Tímea) mine is of a vegetarian persuasion because I use Quorn mince in mine :). I enjoy it with a large (actually I lie, it is a huge) dollop of sour cream on top, and a few slices of darkest rye bread.Dollyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12477812986531102750noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8102162146315706774.post-64813956967931274892012-04-02T12:52:48.500+01:002012-04-02T12:52:48.500+01:00Thank you. I was sipping wine and slurping 'Wellfleet' oysters on Cape Cod when it came out and had such a time catching up with work. This yummy 'soup' must be so fulfilling. Though mostly a vegetarian, I do indulge a few times a year (doctor's orders, but I am happy to support farmers who raise animals for meat in a humane and healthy way . . . all the millions of domesticated animals would not exist otherwise . . . it is the farm factories (corp. 'agriculture' that i detest and protest.) in the red stuff and of course red has to be washed down with another red . . . and I must say that your authentic version of Hungarian Goulash will have to become a favored winter treat. I can get locally raised grass fed beef at our winter farmers markets, and all the veggies you show too including parsnips (now . . . winter markets are truly a treat . . . and only in the last few years a possibility here.) I would add fresh-baked bread from the 'Hungry Ghost' my favorite bakery . . . now to find the proper paprika and cook! Julia was the goddess of our kitchen . . . but I do so love the name Delia. My husband and I spent a few days in Budapest a year or so ago. We made a huge mistake of asking our hotel manager where to go for dinner. He sent us to a touristy place for supper instead of somewhere serving the scrumptious and traditional food you have shown in this post. Your housekeeper/cook is clearly a serious gem.
